My Mum's Craft Shop - Anything Goes Challenge

This is my entry into the My Mum’s Craft Shop ‘Anything goes’ April Challenge.

It is a notelet set made using the My Favourite Things Rainbow and flat bottomed clouds dies (incidentally bought from MMCS), 300gsm Kraft/Recycled cardstock, Papermania glitter paper and various textured cardstocks. I have made the whole thing from scratch (including the envelopes) and its now one of my favourite projects I’ve ever made, I simply adore MFT!!!!!

Brand New LOTV Stamp

Hi Everyone!

I went to the LOTV open day on Sat 11th August and had an absolutely fab time, could have bought up the entire shop! In fact i got a bit too excited and bought the same stamp twice, 'how did that happen?' i hear you cry, well i also took part in a colouring class with the fantastic Bev Rochester which was just over 2 hrs long  and managed to forget that i bought this *sending love* stamp before the class, duh! Elvis has entered the building!

Goodness, there must be something wrong with me, 2 posts in one week shock horror :-D!

I've been a bit of a busy gal the past couple of weeks, with mother's day last sunday and my bro's birthday tomorrow.

i have had 5 cards to make for my brother and boy oh boy was it tough finding inspiration... anyhoo more on that tomorrow, i'll post pics of bro's other cards after he's opened them tomorrow.

Well not only did i have those cards to make but i also got a commission from my sis in law asking for an Elvis themed card for her friend and the result is below, i'm actually quite pleased with how it turned out, although i did think it looked a bit masculine so i added some heart pins... what do you think? with or without?


Materials used - black card stock, DCWV paper, ryman's card, wood ware tiny phrases greeting, memento ink and black pearls - i googled the elvis image, printed it off and neatened it up with a black promarker

Daddy Card

One down 4 to go :-S! I have to make 5 cards for my brother's borthday this coming Sunday, well i have managed one so far, this is from my niece to her daddy and i really enjoyed making it! the Digi is D.I.Y Chester from Pollycraft and I've coloured it in using my promarkers, the cardstock is core'dinations, the paper is my mind's eye, i have used a quickutz die for the happy birthday greeting and Tim Holtz 'typeset' alphabet die for daddy. i am entering this card into the Passion for Promarkers challenge 141 - Animals.

Long Time no Craft!

Well Well Well! It's been a long long time since my last post, oops so much for last year's new year's resolution!

I seemed to have been without my Mojo for most of last year, I didn't entirely but i mainly just made cards and presents for family and friends. Anyhoooooo i thought it was about time to get back on the wagon and post something and where better to start than with a Challenge!

So I made this card for a colleague at work who is about to go on maternity leave (oops should have cut the OH out oh well - that's Sam btw)...


Ok so these are the ingredients:

Saturated Canary Image - Ice Cream and Pickles (coloured with promarkers)
Ribbon - blue - rescued from a box of chocs, red - ikea
Martha stewart branch punch and green card
green craft wire
red stickles glitter glue
red and white pearls
red and blue Wild Orchid Crafsts flowers
nesties and x-cut label dies
corded card from papermill (blue and red card coloured with promarkers)

Craft Fair

Good Morning!

i thought it was about time i posted something, i have loads of pics of cards that i've done recently but i just haven't loaded them on to the computer yet, hopefully the forthcoming long weekend will give me the opportunity!

So for now it's just a short post about the craft fair i did on Saturday, the pic below isn't great as i had to take it with my phone because in my fluster i forgot my proper camera.



i'd been invited for a meal to Northcote Manor (in Lancashire - run by Nigel Haworth who some of you may have seen on the Great British Menu - i love that programme) but couldn't go because i'd already booked and paid for a table at the craft fair, well... i spent the first couple of hours wishing i'd gone for the meal instead, our table seemed to get completely bypassed i was so disheartened! luckily the table only cost £10 (originally £12 but a friend gave me £2 for a small section) so i thought it wouldn't be too bad if i didn't make any money. Luckily though it seemed to pick up a little after lunch and by the end of the day i had made £17, it doesn't sound like much but i was chuffed that i'd made the money back for the table and the extra £7 was a bonus, but even better than that i then tripled my takings (to £21) because my OH's brother and girlfriend were visiting on their way back from the Lakes and she bought £14 worth of cards!!!!

Goodness, so much for the short post!!!!

Challenges

Well i've decided to take the plunge and enter some challenges. I'm starting off with one card and entering it into 2 challenges.

the first challenge is 'The Just Magnolia and hÄnglar & stÄnglar Challenge' and the theme is Favourite colour combination and obviously mine is pink and green, i think the colours work so well together and i think that the particular colours i have used are fresh and very 'Spring'.

The second Challenge is 'Passion for Promarkers' and the theme for this is 'In the Garden' so i've used one of my favourite Magnolia images - Tilda and Ladybug - i've used flowery papers, punched butterflies, paper roses and a rose charm.



for this card i have used:
Paper - My Mind's Eye, Card - Core'dinations, Ribbon - from stash, Butterflies - Martha stewart Bborder punch, image - Magnolia, flowers - papermania, charm - ebay and the image was coloured with promarkers.

Productive Day

Well i did it, i finished 4 more cards for my brothers birthday, i'm seriously 'male carded out' now though let's hope noone else asks me for a card for him because they are likely to get something pink and flowery! Busy Weekend!

Good afternoon everyone!!!!

well i've had an extrmely productive weekend so far! i've finally assembled all the components for the commissioned wedding invites i'm making so they just need to be put together and the inserts printing and i'm done!

The spec for the invites was burgundy, scotty dogs and wedding rings, so i knocked up a sample for the bride to be and she loved it, YAY! Here's where i'm up to so far:-






Also my brother's birthday is on Thursday so i have to make 5 cards for him (from me, my little bro, mum & dad, sis-in-law and neice). i find men's card difficult at the best of times but when i have to make 5 at once and for the same person it's really easy to run out of inspiration! Anyway i've managed to knock up one so far. this one is from me:-

More Calendars

2 posts in a week i sure hope i can keep this up :-D

anyway i've been busy busy busy with the easel calendars and have made 2 more, i still have 2 to make but i have had to put them on hold because my S-I-L is due on friday (7th) so i'm busy making baby cards, however as they decided not to find out the sex i'm having to make 2 of each card :-D

back to the calendars, i have put pics below includng pics of the 2 calendars i'd already made but couldn't upload until today.

New Year's Resolutions

So, amongst the usual new year's resolutions of weight loss and more exercise i have decided to start paying more attention to my blog as i have neglected it for a few months.

I've not only neglected the blog but also crafting as i've had some work done to the house and spent all of November sitting on camping chairs it would have been nice to escape to the craft room, however as my craft room is in an uninsulated drafty loft it wasn't the best place to spend time in during the past few freezing months :-D. So now i'm in my brand new beautifully decorated living room, surrounded my crafty bits and pieces trying to make up for my lack of dedication.

I've been seeing alot of easel calendars on the Docrafts forum so i decided to have a go at them myself, i've made 4 so far, however i can only show you 2 of them at the moment as i haven't got the lead for my new (well old and borrowed) camera.

Fab 'n' Funky what eva' challenge and DT Call

I haven't posted for ages i really should get back in the habit!

I have a reason to post today and that is the Fab 'n' Funky Challenge. The Theme is what eva' so i decided to enter with the card i have made for a friend at work who requested a birthday card for her boyfriend (who she calls Grumpous). i also thought i would have a go at trying out for the DT call at the same time after all what's the worse that could happen! :-D

The Monster image is from Pollycraft Designs, the paper is from Crafts-u-Print the cardstock is DCWV, i used the Martha Stewart Stars border punch, i used word art for the greeting and i used my crop-o-dile for the blue eyelets in the top right.

Card Stall and some Cards

Goodness, it's been a while since i've posted but that's probably because i have had nothing to post about plus i have been preparing for my first 'proper' stall selling my cards!

i had a stall at the Hazel Grove (Cheshire) Carnival today, the sun was shining, there were lots and lots of people there, however... only 3 people bought cards (one of whom is a friend) and most people just ignored the stall. it was more of a family event and i don't think that helped as parents don't want to spend time browsing the cards when their kids want to go to all the stalls with brightly coloured sugary treats and toys (what also didn't help was that i was situated between an ice cream van and toy stall so i got completely bypassed). on a plus note, a girl asked me if the below card was a real laptop!!!!!



anyway it was an experience and i have learnt a few lessons, it has not put me off and i will do another one, but maybe a specialist craft fair instead!

so, onto the cards part, i managed to make more than half a card for a change! here are 5 i made on sunday night:

SIL's 30th

Well i can now put up my Sis-in-laws birthday cards as the day has come and gone!

and this one is from her husband (my older brother), he asked for a ballroom dance theme, i used my bride and groom quickutz dies, i hope it doesn't look too much like a wedding card :-S

On a Roll!

I'm actually getting the hang of this card making lark :-D i have made quite a few cards over the past few days (i am pretty lapse in uploading them on my blog though). i think this might have something to do with my O/H working til 8pm, i have 2 hours of uninterrupted crafting when i get in from work - get in, get changed, make cup of tea (i should say bowl), and then straight up to the craft loft! Bliss! here are a few of my offerings...
