Fab 'n' Funky what eva' challenge and DT Call

I haven't posted for ages i really should get back in the habit!

I have a reason to post today and that is the Fab 'n' Funky Challenge. The Theme is what eva' so i decided to enter with the card i have made for a friend at work who requested a birthday card for her boyfriend (who she calls Grumpous). i also thought i would have a go at trying out for the DT call at the same time after all what's the worse that could happen! :-D

The Monster image is from Pollycraft Designs, the paper is from Crafts-u-Print the cardstock is DCWV, i used the Martha Stewart Stars border punch, i used word art for the greeting and i used my crop-o-dile for the blue eyelets in the top right.

Card Stall and some Cards

Goodness, it's been a while since i've posted but that's probably because i have had nothing to post about plus i have been preparing for my first 'proper' stall selling my cards!

i had a stall at the Hazel Grove (Cheshire) Carnival today, the sun was shining, there were lots and lots of people there, however... only 3 people bought cards (one of whom is a friend) and most people just ignored the stall. it was more of a family event and i don't think that helped as parents don't want to spend time browsing the cards when their kids want to go to all the stalls with brightly coloured sugary treats and toys (what also didn't help was that i was situated between an ice cream van and toy stall so i got completely bypassed). on a plus note, a girl asked me if the below card was a real laptop!!!!!



anyway it was an experience and i have learnt a few lessons, it has not put me off and i will do another one, but maybe a specialist craft fair instead!

so, onto the cards part, i managed to make more than half a card for a change! here are 5 i made on sunday night:

SIL's 30th

Well i can now put up my Sis-in-laws birthday cards as the day has come and gone!

and this one is from her husband (my older brother), he asked for a ballroom dance theme, i used my bride and groom quickutz dies, i hope it doesn't look too much like a wedding card :-S

On a Roll!

I'm actually getting the hang of this card making lark :-D i have made quite a few cards over the past few days (i am pretty lapse in uploading them on my blog though). i think this might have something to do with my O/H working til 8pm, i have 2 hours of uninterrupted crafting when i get in from work - get in, get changed, make cup of tea (i should say bowl), and then straight up to the craft loft! Bliss! here are a few of my offerings...

Die Cut Dreams Challenge

well i thought it was about time i actually entered a challenge. this is for Die Cut Dreams challenge 50, it must contain a number, so i used my quickutz monarch butterfly die, journal alphabet for the numbers and a phrases die for happy birthday.,the papers are K & Co and the card is DCWV, it's also my first attempt an an easel card. the card is for my Sister-in-Law's big 30.

FF and Wedding Card

it's taken me ages but i finally have some more cards to show. one is for a friend getting married on saturday and the other was just to mess around with my new MS punch around the page set.

i've completed the mammouth task of tidying my craft room so hopefully i'll have more cards to show now i can actually find everything!

You wait for one card...

... then 5 come along at once! i have had crafters block for weeks now and then today i shut myself up in my craft room with my laptop and 'Singin' in the rain' and other DVDs and produced 5 cards so without further ado...

decorated with various bits and pieces, you probably can't make it out but the silver one above says notes on the label

this buttons one is my favourite, although i'm not sure if it needs something else?

and of course a day of crafting is not complete without a bit of tilda :-D
and just so that you can see they are books and not just ATCs.. the insides!

Claire's 40th Birthday Candy

Tilda Card

Having found out today that my pre-ordered magnolia stamps will not be arriving til June i had to console myself with using the ones i already have and this is the result, used up the dotty paper and organza ribbon i used for the Gorjuss Girl stamp.

Gorjuss - First Attempt

Here is my first attempt at using one of my new Gorjuss girl stamps (i can't believe i've managed to leave it for over a week with out even trying it). is it too girly to be Gorjuss?

No Cards

i have been a bit slack in the card making department recently, i went to tidy my craft room yesterday and spent 4 hours up there without getting very far, i have managed to clear a little space though (which i plan to mess up again when i get home from work) and maybe i'll have some pictures to add!

I was right...

i have no guilt to spending money... my goodies came yesterday, but i have the mammoth task of organising my craft room before i get the chance to enjoy them! i bought 2 gorjuss girls stamps and my guy ian stamps from TGF (hoping to get better at male themed cards), i'll maybe eventually make some more cards and post the pics, if only i didn't have to work for a living :-D

UH OH!

oh dear, i have already broken my promise to myself and ordered some more goodies! i appear to have no will power whatsoever! oh well i'm sure i'll completely forget my naughtiness once they arrive!

Another Challenge

thought i would use my new edwin surfer stamp for Clare's weekly challenge on the DoCrafts website, i think i should have made the card bigger though

30th Cards

As the big day is over and my brother has opened his cards, it's safe to upload them, so here they all are. Oh and the cake that i decorated for him is there too.

Phew!

It's been a very busy week (so far) i have had to make 5 30th birthday cards for my brother's birthday on thursday! it's so difficult trying to get inspiration for male birthday cards as it is let alone 5 for the same person, as well as trying to make them all look different! i hope i succeeded, i would like to post some pictures but it might be best to wait until the day, just in case he decides to check out my blog!

Buttons! Buttons! Buttons!

My buttons are here! i ordered lot's of lovely buttons from www.paper-and-string.co.uk and they have now arrived and i can't wait to get playing with them, unfortunately i have a really busy week so won't get the chance until the weekend :-(

My First Challenge Entry

i've plucked up the courage to finally enter a challenge. I made this card with some of the crafty things i received in the post this morning (Tilda stamp and nestabilities die). i have entered it into Clare's Weekly Challenge on the DoCrafts website.

My Goodies arrived

What started of as a bad day (bill problems) soon became a good day when my goodies arrived! i have added to my recently started collection of Magnolia stamps and can't wait to play with them, i haven't had the time yet as i had a major tidy in the craft-loft. i thought i would put up my first Magnolia attempts to compare with future makes when i'm an expert :-S!

Friday!

So glad it's friday, i can't wait to get home and hide myself away in my craft-room. i hopefully have some new goodies arriving tomorrow and i can't wait to try them all out, unfortunately though, i think i am going to have to tidy up before i start the serious crafting otherwise i'll never be able to find anything, i just don't like wasting time tidying up when i could be crafting!
